OOTB 692 – Thursday 16th May – Rosie Smith
Out of the Bedroom 692 will take place in Woodland Creatures on Thursday, 16th May from 8.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. Entry is free and sign up for an open mic slot is from 7.30 p.m., with 10 to 15 minutes per act depending on the number of performers. Original music only for the open slots and all music lovers are welcome. A house guitar and keyboard are available for musicians.
Our feature act this week is Rosie Smith. Born in Glasgow, Rosie returned to her parents’ native Edinburgh a few years ago for university, and finally got around to her longtime goal of learning to play the guitar. Rosie’s first Out of the Bedroom performance was also her open mic debut in 2018 with her first three original songs. She has since expanded her repertoire of melancholy songs, often reminiscent of the sad Scottish folksongs, which she is also a keen performer of. Rosie’s other main influences are Joan Baez, Simon and Garfunkel, and Billy Bragg. Most of her music centres around a poignant and mournful expression of love, heartbreak, and healing.
OOTB #691 took place on 6th September. Photos from the evening can be found on our Facebook page. Line up was: Queer Faith and TheMany, Drew William, Jim Bryce, Roy McIntosh, Colin Whitelaw, James Igoe, feature act: Nyk Stoddart.
See you at Woodland Creatures this Thursday… 🙂
