Festive break

Out of the Bedroom is having a festive break – see you all in 2019! 🙂

Out of the Bedroom 682 will take place in Woodland Creatures this Thursday, 13th December from 8.00 p.m. to 11.00 p.m. Entry is free and sign up for an open mic slot is from 7.30 p.m., with 10 to 15 minutes per act depending on the number of performers.

Majk StokesIt’s our Christmas night so covers of a festive nature are allowed. Original music is, as usual, encouraged and welcomed.

Feature act this week is the highly entertaining Majk Stokes. Majk (pronounced as “Mike”) a comedy singer-songwriter, poet, environmentalist, Quaker, and self-confessed caffeine addict. His subject matter takes in everything from deep ecology and archaeology to science fiction and superheroes, and his style is perhaps best described as a blend of Tom Lehrer, Bob Dylan, Billy Bragg and Bill Bailey – but without so many B’s. He acquired an unorthodox spelling of his name when he was working on a music and drama project with children and young people in Bosnia. His album “Too Much Caffeine” is available now online or in old-fashioned physical form, and his new book of poems, “Potatoes and Broken Hearts”, will be available very soon.

OOTB 681 took place on 29th November 2018. Photos from the evening can be found on our Facebook page. Line up was Tau Boo, Kendra France, Ben Murray, Jodi Findlay, Bill Philip, Nyk Stoddart, Tina Louise Avery, Sir Tom Watton, Kathy Muir, Freeloadin’ Frank, Conor Michael Riordan, feature act: Caro Bridges.
